  • Young Dragons for Slovenia

The international break for Slovenia’s youth national teams is approaching, and as is customary, many young Dragons will swap their green-and-white jerseys for shirts with the national team crest.

Dino Kojić and Marko Ristić will temporarily leave the senior team in the coming weeks, having been called up by coach Andrej Razdrh for Slovenia’s youth national team to play in EURO qualifiers against their peers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Norway.

Coach Matej Drobnič has assembled the Slovenian U15 national team in two groups. Lan Ambrož, Mark Burger, Sven Hočevar, and Igor Mamuza were placed in the first group, while Emin Mešanović, Nik Podrenk, Lai Završnik, and Nemanja Đorđević will prove themselves in the second.

The U17 national team, led by Muamer Vugdalić, faces three challenging tests in the European Championship qualifiers against France, Germany, and North Macedonia. Olimpija is sending Luka Karapetrović, Tristan Kotar, and Luka Rus to compete for a spot at EURO U17. Tim Zilić is on standby.

Bor Čeferin and Svit Hočevar will join the U18 national team, which, under the guidance of Goran Cvijanović, will also be vying for a spot at the European Championship. The Young Dragons will face Sweden, Cyprus, and Belgium.

This year’s European Championship is also on the horizon for the U19 selection, which, with Olimpija youth team member Inas Kukavica, will compete in qualifiers against Spain, the Netherlands, and Finland. Kukavica will gain international experience under coach Mišo Brečko.
