Olimpija’s footballers beat Maribor by 2:0 (1:0) in the 31st round of Prva Liga Telemach! Alberto Riera’s team won their first national championships after the 2017/18 season five rounds before the championship ended.
Almost ten thousand spectators attended the last derby for this year’s championship which the Dragons convincingly won. They managed to win three of their derbies while Maribor only won one of them.
David Sualehe scored in the 44th minute and Admir Bristrić scored in the 76th minute to secure Olimpija’s win. The stands genuinely exploded after both goals. They scored their first goal with a nice long shot and Svit Sešlar showed nice dribbling skills to score the second goal.
Olimpija is now 15 points ahead of the Violets who cannot catch up to them because they lost their head-to-head matches. The footballers from Ljubljana head to Nova Gorica for the next game.
